Dr. Herbert Quilon Carpio

A licensed medical doctor by profession, Harvey was Program Coordinator for Health and
Medical Services for the Street Education Program from 2007 to 2015. During his stint,
Childhope was selected as a semi-finalist in the 2011 Stars Impact Awards for the Asia-Pacific
Region, Health category. Through leading the Mobile Health Clinic project, he has been
instrumental in uplifting the health status of street children under Childhope’s wing, by making primary health care available, accessible and free for these vulnerable groups. Besides providing health care services in the poorest areas of Metro Manila, Harvey also trained the next generation of youth health advocates by empowering street children to be Junior Health Workers. He also previously served as Project Officer for UNILAB Foundation’s Leadership Journey, a leadership training program for health professionals, and Chairman of Bahay Amihan Inc., an NGO advocating for the rights of solo parents. He obtained a Diploma in Global Health from the University of Tampere in Finland in 2009, and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine in 2006. He is currently honing his knowledge and skills in social welfare through a Diploma/Masters in Social Work at the UP Open University. <back
